Do you know the history of GLC's land? Did you know that it was noted in a 1829 U.S. Supreme Court opinion? What is stewardship? Push play below and hear Mark Robbins share on Stewardship & GLC History, from May 26, 2019.
Why a capital campaign? Why now? This campaign achieves both immediate repair needs and strategic renovations and improvements. An anniversary like this is a significant milestone, and this campaign invites donors to contribute meaningfully to historic preservation, inclusive welcome, and service to our community.
When do I pledge? When do I give? We trust God's leading and your faithful response to this campaign. On Sunday, June 16, we'll collect all campaign commitment cards (pledges), which you received in the mail or can view and print here. If you cannot be in worship that day, mail your card by that date, or complete the online form. All donations should be received by 12/31/19.
How does this affect our regular GLC budget? Gifts to the Grow-Restore-Serve campaign should be over and above our regular offering. Your offerings to the general fund support the ongoing ministry and mission of GLC - this campaign is separately funded.
Are my gifts tax-deductible? Yes, like any charitable donation to GLC. Your contributions are confidentially recorded by our financial secretary, who provides a giving statement annually and at any other time. Questions? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can we do this? Yes! With God's help, strong participation from members, and additional gifts from our community, we can reach our $250,000 goal. Think how it exciting it will be to see the work outlined in our project plan complete! Reaching 250 hours of service in our 250th year will engage us in new ways and make us realize all the ways we serve.
Can I share with friends? Are we seeking community/non-member gifts? Yes! We know that many friends, neighbors, former members, and others interested in church history, Georgetown, or historic preservation, may be excited to contribute. In early June we'll be launching some crowdfunding tools and doing some direct sharing with church neighbors.
